Wexford Town & County.

Wexford Town is well known for its wide choice of craft shops, pubs and restaurants. With its significance as a fishing port, it comes as no surprise that there is an abundance of good seafood options in Wexford. There is also an arts center in the town, which regularly holds intimate gigs, exhibitions, lectures and films. The town is home to the hugely popular Wexford Opera Festival, which is held annually for two weeks in October.

Co. Wexford is a fantastic destination for sight seeing and family excursions should the weather turn during your holiday in Dunmore East. Wexford County boasts over 200km of shoreline with family friendly sandy beaches, coastal villages, national heritage attractions and gardens including the very famous John F. Kennedy Park & Arboretum, Hook Head lighthouse and the Dunbrody Famine Ship.

With its rich maritime history, water based activities such as sailing, diving and fishing are obviously popular. In addition to some excellent deep-sea fishing, there is also great angling to be had inland on the Blackwater River and on Lough Mahon, which is well stocked with rainbow trout. Wildlife enthusiasts can study marine life on Coninbeg Rocks or watch seals, dolphins and diving birds around the scenic Saltee Islands.
