The 6th Annual Waterford Film Festival will be held between the 9th -11th of November 2012 at the Greyfriars Art Gallery and is Now Open For Submissions for Films and Screenplays!

For the second year in a row we will be focusing exclusively on promoting short films and screenplays, especially independent short films. This will enable the presentation of an increased amount of short films to our always appreciative audience.

In 2012, will also see the 4th year of the Screenplay competition, 2011 attracted a huge number of excellent submissions, many from first time writers. The Best Screenplay Award will be open to all screenplays for un-filmed short films.

Directing & Cinematography Masterclasses:
In conjunction with FilmLAB, the Waterford Film Festival will be presenting masterclasses on Directing and Cinematography featuring two of Ireland’s most talented film practitioners.

On Saturday November 10th 12.00 Patrick Jordan, the Director of Photography for STITCHES will show examples of his work and talk about how he achieves the balance between visal stimulation and the point of action needed to progress stories.

On Sunday November 11th 13.30, Director and Writer of CHARLIE CASANOVA Terry McMahon will lead participants through both his personal take on directing actors as well as the disciplines needed to achieve a cohesive film structure.
Both sessions will include Tea & Coffee.
