Robert Boyle Science Week | 10 – 17 November 2013

Venue: Waterford, Dungarven, Lismore, Co. Waterford

Held as part of Science Week Ireland, the Robert Boyle Science Week seeks to present the world of science to the wider public in an accessible and engaging manner. The week will feature a number of events aimed at primary and secondary students, as well as some for a wider audience, ranging over topics such as engineering, maths, physics, technology chemistry and various outdoor sciences.

The Robert Boyle Science week takes its name from the renounced Irish scientist of the same name. Known throughout the world as the “Father of Modern Chemistry”, Boyle was a monumental figure in the scientific and philosophical world of his time.

A founding member of the Royal Society, Boyle was responsible for a number of important discoveries, from the behaviours of gases to the importance of air for life. He is a figure sadly neglected by Waterford and Ireland in general, something which we hope to rectify by holding this event in his honour.

The four star self catering accommodation at Seacliff Holiday Homes, Dunmore East is the perfect location for all events within County Waterford.
