Dunmore East, County Waterford.

The village of Dunmore East (Dun Mor) is a small pretty fishing port and seaside resort located on the south east coast of Ireland. Well known for its wonderful scenery and views, pretty thatched houses, great restaurants and friendly pubs, the village has something to suit all tastes. The village is of a Breton style with several thatched cottages and a number of pretty coves, including Ladies Cove and Badgers Cove.

Dunmore East was once an important link station for mail between England and Southern Ireland. A feature of the village is a pretty and busy working harbour (designed by G.A. Nimmo, a Scottish engineer). At the entrance to this large fishing and yachting harbour is an anchor recovered from Waterford harbour and believed to have come from 18C merchantman.

A walker’s paradise, the village has a variety of walking options for young and old including park and cliff walks, a working harbour, village park and a coastline going both directions with numerous unspoiled, headlands, coves and beaches to explore.

In addition to the many wonderful walks, Dunmore has many other land based activities to choose from including golf, tennis courts, riding, playgrounds and secluded village beaches. Added to this, Dunmore is a well-known location for all water sport activities including sailing, diving, skiing and sea angling.

Best of all, Dunmore East is famous for its friendly and welcoming locals.
